KENDALLVILLE: Fellowship Bible Church
Pastor Tom & Ilona Dyson
Fellowship Bible Church is located midway between Fort Wayne IN and the Michigan State line. It was begun as a Bible Study meeting in the Kendallville Public Library in 1995. Miriam Christian Chapel was instrumental in helping the church get started and still supports the ministry today. After meeting for years in a building over 100 years old, God provided a facility with an excellent location for practically nothing at all. The church began meeting there, after some renovations, in 2009.
Pastor Tom Dyson has been the missionary pastor since 2002. Born in Dallas, TX into a Christian home, Tom was saved at the age of 8 but did not surrender to God’s will until age 19, when God called him to full time Christian ministry. Ilona was born and raised on a farm near Headland, Alabama and was saved at age 9. Her father died when Ilona was 12 and her Mom a year later. Attending Camp Victory in Hacoda, Alabama every year until she graduated from Bible College, she was greatly influenced by Miss Bea Ames and Miss Hope Wells. Because of their influence she attended Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, AL where she and Tom met and were married in August 1968. Their ministry for the Lord has been primarily in local churches with one short stint at Southeastern Bible College. Tom is also a master electrician and has worked in that field occasionally to supplement the support for his family. The Dysons have three adult children and five grandchildren.
